ABOUT HURST INTERIORS | SW LONDON INTERIOR DESIGNERS

Hurst Interiors began life in 2017 as Hurst + Gillanders, born from a friendship and a shared passion for design and interiors that began at the school gates. Since then, Tamsin has built up extensive experience in London based residential interior design as well as working on projects in Dorset and Oxford, alongside experience in property development and management.

Today, the studio has grown into Hurst Interiors, led by Tamsin Hurst. With a thoughtful, collaborative approach, Tamsin works closely with each client to understand how they live and what matters to them. Every project is tailored to its setting and the people who live there, balancing practicality with warmth, individuality and a sense of ease. Tamsin does not believe in reproducing a particular style or look, rather in balancing old and new, layering colour and texture, and working with the things you already love to create spaces that feel personal and full of character.

Before pursuing her passion for design, Tamsin had a career as a solicitor at a city law firm and brings with her valuable business skills and experience. After qualifying from Chelsea College of Art with a Diploma in Interior Design, she worked in property development whilst running her own interiors business. Coming from a family of artists, Tamsin has always had a natural love of colour, pattern and art. She particularly enjoys bringing vintage artwork into contemporary interiors and finding ways to make a client’s existing collection feel completely at home within a new scheme. For her, art is often the starting point for a room, influencing the colour palette and atmosphere of a home. Its about creating rooms that feel personal and full of character.

“Hurst Interiors was brilliant from start to finish. Tamsin has an intuitive eye for colour and texture, and a real flair for visualising the potential of any space.”
